IBM Partner Technical Specialist (PTS-P) – Technical Sales in Vilnius, Lithuania

Introduction

Do you have a passion for technology and partnerships? The IBM Ecosystem team needs technical pre-sales architects to join our team in Lithuania (covering Baltics countries). You will assume technical responsibility for all pre-sales aspects of delivering IBM's flagship solutions through our Ecosystem of partners to support software sales in the IBM Technology business.

Your role and responsibilities

The Partner Technical Specialist is a technical sales role that utilizes deep technical expertise and plays a key contributor role in the IBM Partner Ecosystem, a key growth engine for IBM. As a Partner Technical Specialist, you will create and maintain trusted advisor relationships with IBM business partners to drive successful outcomes. You will participate in strategic technical discussions with partners and help shape their technical agenda using IBM Technologies. You will lead technical efforts and collaborate internally across IBM's technical experts to identify components and design winning solutions to further develop the IBM Partner Ecosystem.

Candidates need deep technical skills and are assigned to Partners based on growth potential.

  • Responsible for influencing the Partner's technical strategy toward IBM's Technology.

  • Works to incorporate and embed IBM technology into Partner's reference architectures, practices, and solutions.

  • Coordinates IBM technical expertise to identify, design, and implement valued client and partner-centric solutions.

  • Goal of growing the capability and capacity of the overall ecosystem.

  • Increase Partner's technical capabilities for demonstrating and deploying IBM Technology at scale with Partner firms' sales and technical sellers.

Build & Service: PTSs are consultants responsible to build trust, understand the value of our Partner's solutions, and co-create solutions that demonstrate the value of an IBM partnership. Sell: PTSs are enabling Partners to build capability and capacity such that Partners are leading with IBM Technology as they propose, progress and close opportunities. PTSs have well defined goals which allow us to prioritize the needs of our Partners while delivering growth for IBM Technology Responsibilities.

  • Technical expertise

  • Depth of technical skills in assigned Brands and Portfolio (e.g., Data & AI, Automation, Security, AI Apps, Power, Storage, IBM Z) to support partner's Sell / Build / Service opportunities

  • Continuously expands essential business, industry, technology, architecture, and competitive knowledge in Kubernetes, Red Hat, Docker, Cloud Foundry, Cloud Native Security, Infrastructure, etc.

  • Solution co-creation

  • Earn trust and influence partner's tech agenda with a reputation of deep industry knowledge for assigned Brands and Portfolio

  • Facilitates pre-sales technical activities, e.g., joint proof of technology and demonstration between partners and IBM

  • Leads delivery of partner joint-learning activities to build technical skills and expertise of partners to enable co-sell motions

  • Coordinates with CSM to drive post-sale technical adoption and deployment

  • Champions an entrepreneurial mindset and technical eminence to deliver unique value by leveraging industry, Brand, and portfolio expertise to drive innovations to accelerate partners' success as a strategic technical advisor.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience in IT Architecture and Enterprise Solution Design

  • Solid understanding of modern software architectures Hybrid Cloud, Middleware software, Data, AI, Security and Automation Technologies

  • Solid understanding of core software technologies (i.e. Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, Ansible, RHEL)

  • Understanding of technology, business trends and impacts on customer opportunities

  • Growth mindset to stay current on IBM's latest strategy and offerings

  • Superior capabilities in consultative/complex technical sales, architecture design, and technology solution development

  • A passion for interacting with business partners and cultivating long-standing relationships

  • Desire to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing, results-driven work environment

  • Self-driven, responsible & accountable with a can-do mentality

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience in Technical Sales or equivalent role is an advantage.
