Job Description
The Private Swim Instructor is responsible and accountable for providing Quality / No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by offering superior quality, competitive value, and outstanding service in the form of private swim instruction and coaching at all competency levels.
Primary Accountabilities
Quality/No Harm:
- Design individualized instructional programs based on age and skill level.
- Incorporate water safety in all manner of instruction.
- Offer the finest swim instruction available in Brevard County, bar none.
- Maintain National Certification and stay abreast of developments in the field of swim instruction and stroke refinement.
Customer Experience:
- Strive to “connect” with clients on a personal, yet professional, level.
- Communicate effectively and professionally in all situations.
Stewardship:
- Complete client paperwork and/or insure that paperwork/payment is properly completed before beginning lessons.
- Begin and end lessons at assigned time.
- Properly track and record time spent with client.
- When appropriate, recommend that client continue with additional private swim sessions.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current American Heart Association BLS Certification.
- WSI, SwimAmerica, ASCA, or other nationally recognized Swim Instructor/Coach.
- Certification, as approved by Pro-Health & Fitness Centers.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to assist clients as necessary in the water.
- Ability to teach all ages and skill levels.
- Must perform necessary water safety skills for emergency situations, as dictated by the EAP.
- All duties deemed necessary by supervisor.
