We are currently looking for a Platform Project Manager for Push-Pull Intercity Trains (m/f/d) for our Mobility location in Vienna or Graz .

Your new field of activity – challenging and future-oriented

As a Platform Project Manager (m/f/d), you will manage a multidisciplinary team to develop a passenger coach platform for push/pull operation in Europe and report directly to the Head of Platform. You will take on a central role in our company as an entrepreneur with full profit and loss responsibility for your project.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Platform and Project Management:

  • You will be responsible for the project in all phases from development, procurement, production und commissioning planning as well as to develop a strategy for the homologation.

  • You will guide the team to develop a platform and drive standardization internal and external with partners.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless platform functionality.

  • Creating an inspiring and motivating work environment in the team where creativity, teamwork and collaboration are encouraged, and you encourage employees to do their best.

Performance Monitoring:

  • Monitor platform performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement enhancements.

  • You communicate the project results and progress to management and other stakeholders.

  • Drive and monitor opportunities to achieve the targets.

Business and Partner Development:

  • Identify growth opportunities and partnerships within the rail industry.

  • Collaborate with business development teams to expand our market presence.

  • Stay informed about industry trends and competitive landscape.

Cost Optimization:

  • Implement strategies to optimize platform costs and quality.

  • Evaluate operational expenses and identify cost-saving measures.

  • Streamline processes to improve efficiency.

Vendor Relations:

  • Manage relationships with technology vendors and partners.

Data-Driven Insights:

  • Utilize data analysis to make informed decisions and drive platform improvements.

Compliance & Homologation:

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Your qualifications – well-founded and adequate

  • Interest in sustainable mobility solutions, digitalization, and rail vehicles

  • Open-minded, communicative, and proactive personality who can solve problems in an independent manner.

  • Completed technical education (e.g. industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, etc.)

  • Experience in leading a project team in a matrix organization with a platform mindset.

  • Preferably you are a certified Project Manager

  • Experience with rail vehicle projects is a plus, in any case you should be interest in sustainable mobility solutions and in the rail vehicle industry.

  • Experience developing a platform and the surrounding processes is a plus.

  • Very good oral and written proficiency/knowledge in German and English

What else do I need to know?

We offer an attractive compensation package that matches your qualifications and professional experience. According to the collective agreement, the gross annual salary for this position is at least EUR 67,350,-. Depending on your education and experience, overpayment is possible.
