Job Description
What you will be doing:
Acts as the key contact for the Housekeeping Colleagues, ensuring information is communicated, procedures are in place, standards are met and challenges are resolved
Lead and supervise the day-to-day operation of the department to ensure service standards are followed
Handles general inquiries by Room Attendants regarding guest requests and may provide information concerning daily operation of overall housekeeping department.
Responsible for daily room assignments and houseperson assignments, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness of the housekeeping operation
Handle guest concerns and react quickly, logging and notifying the proper areas
Actively participates and assists Housekeeping Managers in daily briefing
Assists with inspecting VIP rooms
Ensure Room Attendants are informed daily about priorities in their section
Report necessary maintenance items with work orders and service requests
Ensure a clean and safe working environment, and actively participate in health and safety initiatives
Adhere to all hotel environmental policies and initiatives
Ensures Fairmont standards are met and exceeded
Other duties as assigned
Hourly wage between $ 24.89 - $ 28.45
Qualifications
Your experience and skills include:
Fluency in English (verbal & written) essential
Post-secondary education preferred, or equivalent
Previous supervisory experience in a similar environment will be an asset, with a proven ability to train others, provide professional, friendly and engaging service
Proven ability to help implement change, successfully lead and motivate colleagues
Strong organizational, supervisory and communication skills
Must be proactive with a meticulous eye for detail
Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly
Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations
Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by coworkers and guest
Must be able to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work well with limited supervision
Impeccable grooming and presentation
Experience with hotel Property Management System desirable
Good computer literacy (experience using Property Manager System preferred, and proficiency in MS Word, Outlook and Excel)
Demonstrates initiative, self-motivation, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to maintain high service levels under pressure
