SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Primary Function and Scope:

Provide controls hardware engineering support to the project team that is delivering 'turn-key' custom automation equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Define the system architecture, design the electronic control system, generate AutoCAD schematics and panel layouts, prepare the bills of materials (BOM's), release hardware design to the shop and support the build of the equipment. Responsible for electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic hardware design for custom automation equipment by performing, but not limited to, the following duties:

Pay Range: $55,000 - $110,000

Essential Functions

  • Meet with customer and project manager to understand requirements of customer needs

  • Develop electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic controls designs utilizing AutoCAD Electrical for drawing development.

  • Develop a bill of controls materials, seeking cost estimates for purchasing department - work with project management to get parts ordered on time.

  • Responsible for designing the interconnections of peripheral hardware, such as but not limited to, servo motors, Vision, Robots, leak test systems, LVDT's, data collection systems. These peripheral systems may require knowledge and experience in network communications.

  • Work closely with controls build department on the wiring and plumbing of equipment.

  • Assist with debug of the system hardware, if required.

  • Adhere to established controls standards and procedures.

  • Observe safety procedures.

  • Any other task assigned by management within scope of position, federal and state regulations.

    Position Requirements

Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: BS Degree with 5+ years work experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have custom system engineering/troubleshooting experience. Require two years’ experience using AutoCAD Electrical.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Effective verbal/written communication and presentation skills required.
