Performs moderately complex-level (journey-level) rehabilitation therapy work with patients in a Forensic Psychiatric setting. Work involves providing rehabilitative services to clients with mental impairments utilizing the principles of social learning. Works under close supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement. Must understand that duties, location of work, and shift patterns are subject to change as determined by the administration to meet the needs of the hospital. Essential Job FunctionsAttends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned. and#149; Instructs and oversees individuals or groups of clients in performing therapeutic activities. (75%) and#149; Prepares materials for therapeutic activities and maintains an adequate supply of materials. (5%) and#149; Prepares reports on clientsand#146; attendance and their responses to treatments. (5%) and#149; Oversees the maintenance of recreational facilities in therapeutic work areas. (5%) and#149; May train others. (3%) and#149; Prepares clients for and accompanies them to community events and functions. (2%) and#149; Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agencyand#146;s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or locations. 5% Registrations, Licensure Requirements or CertificationsKnowledge Skills Abilitiesand#149; Knowledge of the therapeutic methods and techniques in the rehabilitation therapy area of specialization. and#149; Ability to provide rehabilitative therapy and to communicate effectively. and#149; Knowledge of Psychiatric Rehab concepts and have ability to present the materials to advance patient learning. and#149; Computer knowledge and skill. and#149; Ability/willingness to work with supervisor, co-workers and follow established policy and procedures. and#149; Considerable knowledge of the methods and techniques of planning and conducting activities for mentally and physically ill patients and#149; Must continually present self as a role model to all persons in contact with. and#149; Ability to exercise good discretionary judgement in the conduct of duties. and#149; May supervise the work of others. Initial Screening CriteriaGraduation from an accredited high school or equivalent plus one (1) year of work experience in Rehab. Required to work days other than Monday-Friday and hours other than 8-5.
