Description Job Title: Staff Accountant
Location: Onsite, 5 days a week (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant with strong experience in inventory management, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in general accounting and be proficient with key software tools including MS Office, Excel, A2000, and Avalara.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform month-end close activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
Conduct detailed account reconciliations, including bank accounts, payroll, and customer accounts.
Manage and maintain accurate inventory records within the financial system.
Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
Handle sales tax filings and compliance using Avalara.
Assist with payroll administration, including running reports and processing journal entries.
Prepare monthly commission statements for in-house and external sales teams.
Process and approve expense reports in the accounting system.
Analyze financial data to support decision-making and reporting.
Support continuous improvement of accounting processes and procedures.
Key Qualifications:
Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in general accounting.
Proven inventory accounting experience (must be clearly shown on resume).
Strong account reconciliation skills are required.
Experience with month-end close processes.
Proficiency with general ledger accounting.
Experience with sales tax processes; Avalara experience is a plus.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel; experience with A2000 is preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills for effective team collaboration.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
