What impact you’ll make

The Design Liaison Engineering team is the face of Aeroderivative Package engineering to supply chain. This team leads dispositioning deviant hardware, owns release and management of Advanced Order Bill of Materials (AO BOMs), and supports lean activities to reduce cost of quality, non-conformances, and lean line production delays. The team is critical to enabling fulfilment for our customers.

This job involves two main elements:

• Advocate for and lead the execution of lean initiatives to improve quality, non-conformances, and lean line production delays. The specific initial initiative for this role is defect containment communication and validation across the full lifecycle of package procurement, assembly, and installation.

• Supporting a team of experienced Aero DLE engineers while working closely with the Aero Package Engineering, Aero Project Engineering, Manufacturing, and Sourcing Teams along with various external vendors to support quality fulfillment of package assembly in Veresegyhaz, Hungary

What you’ll do

• Being an inclusive leader; setting daily priorities for engineers, balancing workloads, being a mentor to team members, and setting an example by continuously driving improvements

• Acting as the aeroderivative package design technical focal for deviation support and AO BOM release and maintenance to maximize business impact

• This position requires strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills as well as a passion for quality and continuous improvement

• Representing the Aeroderivative Engineering organization (both Product and Project) in various local and business Kaizens or other improvement efforts

• Engaging with partner organizations to implement new product and process ideas that enhance quality, reduce cost and improve productivity

• Advising NPI design teams on design for producibility and lean flow

• Cultivate positive working environment and morale; drive a sense of urgency and quality with speed

• Ensuring the team delivers change that has business impact

• Act as a mentor for the team

What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering

• Significant experience of a relevant engineering role

• Fluent in English and Hungarian language

• Significant years of Aeroderivative package engineering experience

• Some years of shop/manufacturing experience

• Strong team player

• Well versed in lean manufacturing methods

• Deep technical background

• Good negotiation skills

• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
