What impact you’ll make?

The Gas Turbine Design Liaison Engineering Team is the face of Gas Turbine Engineering to supply chain.

The Design Liaison Engineer (DLE) plays a key role in the Gas Turbine Engineering team providing technical support to Manufacturing and Sourcing functions. Responsibilities include addressing technical non-conformance issues affecting functionality, quality and producibility of HGP components, lean activities, cost out, qualification rigor, NPI support, global support for fulfillment.

The DLE is the key contact for Manufacturing and Sourcing teams.

Job Description

What you’ll do

• Provide Engineering dispositions on NCNs & SDRs

• Qualify special processes and second source suppliers, facilitate NPI qualifications

• Lead pre-emptive efforts to improve quality and reduce deviations

• Ensure Engineering presence in the shop

• Work with production to establish and maintain statistical process control. Lead effort to populate process capability database that will be fed back to design for use in NPI process

• Support Design reviews (PDR, DDR) to provide input on shop impact, process capability, recurrent defects

• Support lean activities, cost reduction (Scrap & Rework)

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Mechanical or equivalent

• Significant experience in fabrication/Quality/GT Engineering

What will make you stand out

• Turbine Hot GAs Path static components and manufacturing processes experience

• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work in a dynamic and global environment, to influence and to coordinate the different functions involved

• Experience and familiarity with advanced manufacturing processes and lean manufacturing methods

• English language (Fluent)
