Maintains and repairs plant mechanical and/or electrical equipment, physical structures of buildings and maintains grounds, and/or mobile equipment by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs. ? Understands, uses, and champions the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) per established procedures. ? Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. ? Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments. ? Prioritizes service schedule to plan repair, prevention maintenance, calibration, cleaning, and sanitation. ? Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, and hand and power tools. ? Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. ? Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance. ? Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt. ? Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. ? Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests. ? Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. ? Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks. ? Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. ? Performs and implements preventive maintenance programs for assigned equipment. ? Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies. ? Supports annual budget requirements for responsible area and manages expenses against budget through each crop year. ? Oversees work backlog and scheduling process for assigned area and coordinates work with staff, production schedule, and business conditions. ? Inspects completed work for quality, timeliness, and standards as necessary. ? Coordinates production schedules and schedules staff times accordingly. ? Interprets company policies to staff and enforces safety regulations. ? Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work staff. ? Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems. ? Suggests, implements and supports initiatives to motivate staff and improve engagement. ? Confers with leads, supervisors, and managers to coordinate and collaborate activities with other departments. ? Conducts operations in a manner which promotes safety and complies with Cal/OSHA standards, to include wearing all PPE ? Work assigned shift to include up to 6 days per week, 12-14 hours per day ? Support the implementation and monitoring of food safety, food quality standards, and regulations and laws ? Keep work environment clean, positive and free of harassment ? Demonstrate reliable/consistent attendance and punctuality and a positive attitude. ? Other duties and projects as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Three to f ve years of maintenance/plant repairs experience. High school diploma or equivalent required. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in English. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Must be able to perform basic arithmetic and algebraic functions. REASONING ABILITY: Must be able to troubleshoot equipment/process problems and propose solutions. Problem-solving skills are essential to this position. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Technical education/certificates in similar field a plus but not required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust, stand for long periods, walk, climb stairs, squat, bend, sit, and use hands.
