NeueHouse Events and F&B Manager in Venice, California

The Venice Beach F&B + Events Manager role requires the planning and coordinating of all day-to-day activities required to run a high-touch restaurant and private events operation, a hybrid of organizational efficiency and exceeding excellence in customer service. The role leads by example in delivering on the ambitious standards set by the Food and Beverage leadership team, overseeing all aspects of the operation; management of the restaurant and floor staff; management of sales and profits, whilst always assisting to curate and consistently upgrade the level of service and product offerings.

Reporting to the Director of Food and Beverage and the NeueHouse Venice Beach (Interim) General Manager, with a dotted line into the Community + Culture team, the Venice Beach F&B + Events Manager working as part of the broader Event Production teams will have the opportunity to manage both private event and member-facing event F&B production and will assist in driving a multi-million-dollar revenue channel for NeueHouse Venice Beach by executing a seamless and exceptional hospitality experience to our Members, Guests and VIPs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years acting as a Food and Beverage Manager or similar role in luxury hospitality, food + beverage, or bar environments. Bartending experience is essential for this role.

  • 3+ years producing events with noted experience in creating a range of luxury hospitality experiences: music, dining, speaker sessions, workshops + classes, networking sessions, broadcasting, experiential, corporate, etc.

  • Encompassing several spheres of hospitality - blending service excellence, innovation, creativity, and operations the role calls upon but is not limited to leadership by example, team building and guest rapport, alongside workflow and management of all Venice Beach F&B Department operational functions.

  • The NeueHouse universe is vast and draws from the worlds of art, music, entertainment, publishing, media, performance, and beyond. Our F&B + Events Manager must be at home navigating the individuals, brands and businesses who call these industries and NeueHouse home.

  • Support the Events Sales Team with client walk-throughs, handling of client and talent communications, riders, schedules, support production with small-scale meetings, pre-production, and day of execution.

  • Oversee event production, including and not limited to programming partner coordinator and administration, event pre-production, client & vendor liaise, staffing, on-site execution, internally coordinates with a variety of teams, and post-production reporting and follow-up.

  • Create weekly programming events packets with the Private Events Sales team, summarizing event needs for the upcoming week (i.e., run of the show, BEOs, AV needs, floor plans p/event).

  • Track expenses for each event + submit vendor or programming partner payments and prepare monthly budget reports.

  • Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, inventory, and cash control.

  • Hold responsibility for long range strategic planning for all components of the Venice Beach F&B special events program.

  • Proven leadership and professional development experience with teams of individuals from a variety of departments: Events, Membership, Programming, Operations, Facilities, Marketing & Sales, IT & A/V, etc.

  • Manage and oversee planning of events operations to ensure an integrated, efficient, and profitable organization.

  • An innate understanding of high-touch customer service – you are the consummate host and no detail in providing for members, guests, or our teams will go unnoticed.

  • The capacity to work within an ever-changing environment, assisting to develop operating procedures as the business dictates and the willingness to support in other areas as required to maintain the integrity of the Venice Beach House operations.

  • As an ultimate ambassador for the NeueHouse brand will ensure customer relations for all Members and Guests are executed to the highest level of service, resolving all customer complaints & correspondence as required.

  • Assist the Director of F&B with recruitment, the establishment of operating systems and the onboarding and set up of training schedules with new staff.

  • Create an excellent work environment, the ability to bring a diverse group of humans from various experiences, countries, and cultures together centered upon teamwork and mutual respect.

  • Ongoing development of team members to ensure detailed product knowledge, growth, and professionalism. Effective performance management and discipline of all bar staff.

  • Effective communication during pre-service briefings of information relating to programming events, wine offerings, members, guests, and daily operations.

  • Attend and coordinate daily / weekly & monthly operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments.

  • Implement effective policies to ensure that overall Restaurant Kitchen and BOH areas cleanliness meets State Health Code Standards, with the expectation of always passing a Grade A.

  • Management of all Staff, Member and Guest incidents on property, with the appropriate prompt, clear and direct incident reporting, and documentation with our People & Culture team.
