Description

Training courses are offered by the County for applicants that are not certified.

This position is responsible for patrolling the pool area in order to protect swimmers and maintain order.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The primary functions of this position include: rescuing swimmers in distress and administering first aid treatment as necessary, enforcing safety rules and regulations regarding water activities, teaching swimming classes, accounting for monies received, performing pool maintenance, and cleaning the facility.

  • Will be required to train and document all rescue skills and CPR/First Aid procedures.

Education, Experience, Licensing

  • Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of the 10th grade.

  • Required to have current StarGuard Lifeguard, First Aid and CPR certifications as issued by StarFish Aquatics Institute.

  • Water Safety Instructor certification or Learn-to-Swim Instructor certification is required.

  • Ability to pass a Level II Background Screening (Finger Prints) is required.

LIFEGUARD IN-SERVICE TRAINING will be held: J une 5, 2024

PROGRAM DATES: June 6 - August 10, 2024

  • Must be able to bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs.
