Position Summary

The Mechatronics Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for advanced line support to maintain production performance, site capital project management, and supporting engineering in major initiatives while coordinating and participating in pilot line machine automation/control systems providing a supporting role in the development of new product innovations and the improvement of current product offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Energizer culture of winning together while serving each other with a willingness to act boldly while doing the right thing

  • Ensure maximum uptime of the facility manufacturing productions lines and project efficiency

  • Train and mentor other colleagues in general electrical principals as well as electrical safety, controls and robotics

  • Subject matter expert for manufacturing control and robot systems

  • Provide strategic vision for equipment automation and controls systems for pilot plant operations

  • Provide project leadership of electrical engineering and other projects from conception thru finish

  • Coordinate and review contractor, vendor, and consultant activity

  • Collaborate with supervisor, co-workers, and teams to meet departmental and company objectives

  • Include process improvement, equipment development/design, equipment procurement, equipment prove-in, process optimization, cost reduction efforts, as well as utilizing teamwork and other engineering system tools

  • Resolve technical problems through interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating systems which have a significant impact on products, processes, and/or safety perspective

  • Capable of managing new projects/initiatives from beginning to a successful FAT/SAT

  • Constantly interact with team leaders and value stream managers to ensure daily performance is met

  • Work independently and with teams on assignments of medium to high complexity projects and engineering tasks, applying engineering knowledge to complete assignments

  • Develop electrical diagrams, drawings, schematics, and specifications as part of new projects or improvements

  • Perform other job-related duties as required or assigned

  • Understand production/manufacturing environment

  • Capable of supporting advance fault finding/troubleshooting above level of maintenance personnel

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Automation Engineering, Control Engineering or Mechatronics

  • 5 years of electrical engineering experience in a manufacturing or light industrial environment

  • Hands-on support with an 80/20 split between shop floor and office responsibilities

  • Understands the mechatronics aspects of systems and equipment

  • In depth knowledge of circuits, programming and build minor electrical projects

  • Experience with PLC’s, HMI’s, motor control circuits and SCADA systems, industry 4.0, from both a maintenance and design/program perspective

  • Robotic systems, 6 DOF robots and Cobots (UR)

  • General knowledge of and experience with a variety of industrial controls and safety systems including

  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment such as Electrical Safety PPE, Safety Glasses, and hearing protection

  • Travel 10%

What we prefer

  • Ability to understand, troubleshoot, and expert program PLC’s AB, Phoenix Contact, servomotor systems

  • Expertise with industrial vision systems for part identification

  • Expertise in building automation systems and a general understanding of building controls

  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks, Auto Cad Electrical 2020 or newer

  • Lean manufacturing experience and mindset

  • Fault finding/troubleshooting skills, with basic programming skills on Allen Bradley, Siemens and Ladder PLCs

  • Understanding and capable of programming industrial computers in OOL or structure programming

  • Project management and leadership skills

Total Rewards Package

The salary range for this position is USD $90,000.00/Yr. - USD $115,000.00/Yr.

Actual base salary offered to a candidate may vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.

Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
