Compass Oncology - the Northwest's Largest Private Practice Oncology Center - is currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Gyn/Surgical Oncology team. At Compass, nurses play a vital role as part of our interdisciplinary team, providing exceptional care to our patients. Our Gynecology team is comprised of two Gynecology Surgeons, two Advanced Practice Practitioners, a RN, two Medical Assistants, and two Schedulers, forming a dynamic and collaborative group. As the Gyn Oncology RN, you will play a crucial role in guiding our patients through their cancer care journey. By utilizing the nursing process, you will address both acute and chronic needs of patients with a cancer diagnosis. Responsibilities of the Gyn Oncology RN include answering clinical questions, assessing patient needs, and gathering essential information for our providers. Your expertise and support will contribute to informed care delivery decisions, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients. Employment Type: Full-Time, 32 Hours; .8 FTE Location: Onsite Vancouver Cancer Center (Vancouver, WA) Salary Range: $39.02-$60.95 Per Hour *Final offer amounts are determined by a review of the candidate's applicable experience and qualifications, as well as, internal employee equity considerations. Job Scope: Under general supervision, provides general nursing care for patients following established standards and practices. Promotes efficient patient flow, assists with patient care. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Responsibilities Responsibilities Assume primary responsibility as the main point of contact within the gynecology oncology team, providing assistance and support to facilitate the patient's cancer journey. Maintains efficient and appropriate patient flow. Expected to participate in provider led huddles. Delivers comprehensive nursing care to patients, ensuring accurate and detailed documentation of all provided care. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards. Observes, records, and reports patient's condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians. May screen patients for appropriate information. May instruct patients in collection of specimen samples for testing. Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls. Educates patient and family regarding medications, treatment instructions and symptom management. Facilitates prescriptions and makes patient calls as required or directed by physicians. Will be responsible for conducting pre and post-operative education, as well as addressing any additional post-operative concerns that may arise. Assists the physician in the coordination and management of treatment plans. Will provide assistance in entering and processing provider orders Assists with maintaining patient files, records, and other information. May perform voiding trials and wound assessments/care. Act as a valuable resource within the clinic, serving as a central point of contact for the team and providing support for the care of gynecologic oncology patients.
