A-Team Solutions LLC is seeking Pharmacy Technician for a contract at the VA in Portland, OR and Vancouver, WA . Full-Time hours for 1 year with possible extension, shifts vary. Start will be upon approval and credentialing. Duties and Responsibilities: Possess technical knowledge of drug and medication brand names, generic names/chemical names, general and special storage requirements,expiration date requirements, manufacturer/distributor sources, dosage forms,applicable systems of weights and measures and medical terminology tointerpret providers' orders and verify correct drug, dosage form, strength anddose is prepared and/or distributed; working knowledge of drug use anddosage forms available to be able to screen drug orders for propriety andassist the pharmacist in solving potential drug related problems. Train on and use hospital computer system(s), specifically the applicable VISTA and CPRS and processing options (e.g., BCMA, unit dose, outpatientprescription processing including ScriptPro dispensing machine, IVadmixtures, etc.) and the operation of automated dispensing equipmentincluding Omnicell. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, pharmacy technicians perform routine pharmacy functions including receiving prescriptions from patients in writingor electronically from physicians.non-scheduled federal legend drugs and medical devices, over-the-counterproducts and supply itemsdispensing equipmentmeasuring, and mixing the medication if necessary. Pharmacy techniciansmaintain patient profiles, stock, and take inventory of medications.including sterile product preparation and chemotherapy. Processing and filling inpatient and outpatient prescriptions for scheduled and Operation, maintenance, re-stocking and troubleshooting of automated Pharmacy technicians prepare prescriptions by counting, pouring, weighing, Pharmacy technicians prepare medications for inpatients in various settings, Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, FSA Requirements: Certified by the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB); and have one-year experience in hospital pharmacy setting with an emphasis on sterile IV compounding; and be a graduate of an Academic Technician Training Educational Program.
