GeoDesign's Wilsonville, Oregon and Vancouver, WA office is seeing a regular, full-time field technician for a variety of geotechnical projects in the Portland Metro area markets. Although our core hours are generally 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, it is sometimes necessary to work outside these hours to meet our client's needs. Responsibilities Technical: Develops understanding of standard industry methods, techniques, practices, programs, and standards. Responds to technical related problems and communicates with Project Manager. Properly calibrates and operates technical discipline-specific field equipment at an entry-level. Demonstrates skill in lab and field testing. Familiar with all applicable federal, state and legal laws, regulations, and guidance pertaining to discipline specific work. Develops understanding of relevant QA/QC programs and procedures. Develops understanding of all industry-related field methodologies. Utilizes Microsoft Excel at an entry-level. Familiarity with industry-related software. Project/Task Management: Conducts basic field work assignments. Completes daily Field Reports and Logs. Professional Development: Occasionally participates in professional organizations/associations. Regularly attends internal Educational Series brown bags. Occasionally reads applicable regulatory guidance and professional publications. Financial: Manages budgeted time for tasks as assigned by project manager. Appropriately bills time to projects. Appropriately bills testing and materials to projects. Completes and submits weekly time and expense reports by deadlines. Communication: Conducts timely and appropriate project specific field briefings with project manager. Performs technical writing at a basic level. Provides effective written and verbal communications. Receives constructive criticism in a positive manner and acts on suggestions. Provides open, direct, and honest communication. Business Development: Plays a role in maintaining client and subcontractor relationships. Leadership/Supervisory: Works under close supervision of senior technical staff to perform discipline specific tasks. Receives specific and detailed instructions. Demonstrates positive team working capabilities. Maintains professional conduct and appearance. Demonstrates support of company vision, mission, and objectives. QA/QC Management: Understands and applies company technical manual standard operating procedures. Develops concise, organized, and timely field reports and project correspondence. Accurately completes all correspondence, documentation, logs, report, etc., according to industry and company standards. Conducts independent review of own
