THE JOB
Tidewater Environmental Services, Inc. is hiring a Shop Technician position who will be responsible for supporting the Maintenance Supervisor and Shop Mechanic personnel to perform scheduled and routine maintenance on all equipment, including, but not limited to, diesel trucks, Vac-Con trucks, drop boxes and high pressure/high volume wash pumps including tanks, hoses, and pumps etc.
- Performs metal fabrication and engineering of solutions. Performs MIG welding repairs and fabrication on roll off bins and other equipment as needed.
- Performs inspections, documentation, cleaning, and repair on USCG Over the Water Transfer equipment.
- Notifies Maintenance Supervisor of major damage or equipment failures.
- Performs maintenance on 3k to 6k water blasters.
- Maintains and performs wash bay activities to include washing trucks, hoses, tanks, etc. and keeping the wash bay and equipment clean.
- Performs routine fueling and cleaning of shop equipment.
- Documents all work completed on repair orders.
- Assists in daily maintenance of outside facility/grounds.
- Maintains a clean, safe work area which may include sweeping, organizing, and maintaining the shop and grounds areas.
- Works in confined spaces (i.e. tankers) to clean and/or repair them.
- Represents the Company in a professional manner.
- Responsible for prompt and regular attendance as scheduled.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

• Hiring Wage Range: $23.27 - $24.74 / hour; Position Wage Range: $23.27 -- $28.45 / hour

THE CATCH
High school diploma or equivalent with prior mechanical/maintenance experience.
Vocational/technical certification preferred (i.e. AWS D1.1 Certification).
MIG welding experience required. TIG welding experience preferred.
A minimum of three years' experience performing Clean Certification on vacuum equipment preferred.
Ability to operate equipment including MIG welding equipment, electric power tools, hand tools, air tools, grinders, hydraulic jacks, forklifts, drills, come-alongs, chain hoist, etc.
Communication skills necessary to work collaboratively and maintain effecting working relationships, influence change, resolve problems, and interact with personnel at all levels of the organization.
Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) required which may include ear plugs, safety eyewear, gloves, crust resistant footwear, hard hat, and personal flotation devices.
Must have general mechanic hand tools as required.
Ability to be certified OSHA 40-hour Hazardous Material Technician, and Confined Space Entry and Rescue certifications within one (1) year of hire. Training will be provided by the employer.
Ability to be certified in First Aid/CPR.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) from the Department of Homeland Security.
