Mackay Sposito Construction Manager in Vancouver, Washington

 

MacKay Sposito is seeking a Construction Manager(s) with experience in public roadway and utility construction. This position manages budget, schedule, and quality for construction of new roadway projects acting as an owner’s representative. This position requires clear and accurate communication of project information to clients, the general public, regulatory agencies, and other agencies, peers, and managers routinely. We generally have projects in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana.

    Keys to Success:

  • Capable of managing multiple construction projects and inspection field staff simultaneously.

  • Able to track status, review and effectively process time sensitive construction documents including change orders, requests for information, submittals, and other documents. 

  • Effectively communicate with the project team including the owner, construction contractor, design team, and project stakeholders.

  • Conducts work in a very detail-oriented manner.

  • Driven to seek continual learning and improvement.

  • Demonstrates success in working independently to meet deadlines, act in an Owner’s Representative role, and execute a wide range of construction management activities.

  • Capable of maintaining composure under pressure and remaining flexible despite interruptions or changes.

    Qualifications:

  • 10 years of work experience in construction management, project management, or civil engineering is preferred.

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering, construction engineering management or other engineering field is preferred, but not required.

  • Must have a working knowledge of most components of roadway and utility construction projects including earthwork, aggregate base, asphalt and concrete paving, concrete curbing and sidewalks, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, potable water, street lighting, landscaping, irrigation and traffic signals. 

  • Bridge experience a plus.

  • Must be safety oriented and have a working knowledge of safety requirements.

  • Must have proficiency in the following key areas:  Word processing, spreadsheet and email software, and higher math (trigonometry and geometry).

  • Experience with Microsoft Project scheduling software is preferred.

  • Must be able to walk, lift, carry, stoop, bend, twist and work in the outdoors on uneven surfaces routinely. Typical work day may include exposure to weather extremes and rough or uneven terrain.

  • Current driver’s license and good driving record required. Ability to be insured to drive company vehicles required.

    Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as various market and business considerations.

    The wage range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr depending on experience. 

    Full time employees receive a  well rounded benefit package including access to our company sponsored Medical, Dental, Vision, FSA, and Supplemental Life Insurance plans. 100% company paid Life Insurance, Short Term Disability, and Long Term Disability coverage. Employees are eligible to participate in our company 401k plan with up to a 4% match Additionally, employees also receive paid vacation time, paid sick time, and 11 paid holidays. MacKay Sposito pays for expenses associated with licensure as well as annual profit sharing bonuses.
