Port of Vancouver Traffic Attendant (Seasonal) in Vancouver, British Columbia

As a Traffic Attendant, you will be responsible for supporting vehicle and passenger traffic flow at the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority’s cruise ship terminal.

What you’ll do:

  • Directvehicles, passengers, and general access to and from the cruise facilityat Canada Place (All successful candidates must attend mandatory trainingsessions).

  • Performtraffic attendant duties as required at Canada Place and cruise stagingareas.

  • Requirement towear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as recommended byregulatory agencies (i.e. steel toe boots, high-viz vests, etc.) All PPEwill be provided by the port authority.

  • Maintaineffective communication with passenger agents, ground transportation andservice contractors, cruise passengers, and others while balancing theimperatives of customer service and operations efficiency.

  • Completeoccurrence reports and/or complete daily logs as required.

  • Perform otherassigned duties as required.

What you bring:

  • You are a teamplayer and quick learner who has demonstrated that you have the ability toorganize, problem-solve, and perform duties with minimum supervision.

  • You haveexcellent verbal and written communications skills along with excellentinterpersonal skills.

  • You arefrequently described as outgoing, confident, reliable, assertive yetcourteous, and customer service oriented.

  • You possessknowledge of a second language and a first aid ticket (considered anasset).

Location: Vancouver, Canada

Job type: Bargaining Unit, Temporary, In-office . Up to 40 hours per week, including weekends. Approximately from March 2025 to late-October 2025.

Working environment: Traffic Attendants will work on Canada Place grounds within the porte cochere and outside premises. Traffic Attendants will stand during their shifts and they will be exposed to the weather elements.
