Microsoft Corporation Senior Producer - Gears of War- The Coalition in Vancouver, British Columbia

We are looking for a Senior Producer to deliver best in class gaming experiences for our players while hitting quality, schedule, and business targets. The Senior Producer is responsible for managing one or more multidisciplinary teams composed of artists, designers, and engineers and working directly with the Production Director to drive features to completion. As part of the Production team, you will be expected to help create and foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high performing work environment. You will create production roadmaps based on backlogs and partner with Product Owners to establish sprint and milestone goals. You will drive execution of this plan by working with the leadership team to prioritize deliverables, manage risks and dependencies, react quickly to challenges and problem solve when issues arise. You will also report the weekly status, and evaluate your group against deliverable completion and quality success criteria.

Responsibilities

  • Milestone planning, execution, dependency management and evaluation of priorities

  • Communicating goals to the team and motivating them to execute on time and at a high-quality level.

  • Focusing on project development with an emphasis on team empowerment.

  • Proactive risk management and mitigation - identifying issues, proposing solutions and being accountable for taking action.

  • Creating, updating, and presenting status and information to the Studio Leadership team.

  • Identifying process improvements to increase efficiency.

  • Providing regular capacity plan updates.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in production roles in gaming or entertainment industry, or other multi-disciplinary leadership

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 1+ years experience managing budgets.

  • Experience in development and shipping of at least one console game product release.

  • 3+ years experience managing relationships with stakeholders, clients, and/or customers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understands what it takes to ship AAA games and provide quality post launch support.

  • Managed one or more cross functional game teams through multiple game phases (Pre-Production, Production, Finaling and Post Launch).

  • Are customer obsessed and have a desire to provide the best experience to our developers and our players.

  • Comfortable working in modern project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, Kanban, etc).

  • You are excited to work closely with producers, product owners, designers, engineers and content creators and can set and drive a vision for your team.

  • Experience working with external development partners.

Game Producers M4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $108,100 - CAD $199,700 per year.
