Job Title: Journeyman Plumber

up to $46/hr

Job Description

Our client is in search of a Journeyman Plumber for a long-term opportunity. This person will be working on new construction institutional projects, handling plumbing tasks with cast iron, copper, pipe sizes ranging from 0.5 to 4 inches, rough-ins, mechanical joints, wirsbo pipe, finishing, and installation of faucets, toilets, piping, and potentially some heating and cooling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Work on new construction institutional projects

• Handle plumbing tasks with cast iron, copper, pipe sizes ranging from 0.5 to 4 inches

• Perform rough-ins and mechanical joints

• Install wirsbo pipe, faucets, toilets, and piping

• Potentially handle heating and cooling equipment

• Work closely with a team including foremen, other journeymen, and apprentices

Essential Skills

• Journeyman Plumber certification

• 2+ years of institutional/commercial plumbing experience

• Experience in completing rough-in and finishing plumbing

• Ability to work in Vancouver and/or UBC

Work Environment

• The work environment consists of construction sites, both indoors and outdoors.

• Tasks include deck layout, working with cast iron, copper, black iron heating pipes, mechanical rooms, and welding.

• The team typically includes a foreman, 1-5 journeymen, and 1-5 apprentices.

• The hours are 6:30 AM - 2:30 PM or 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, with potential for overtime.

• Employees are expected to work together during overtime, and the company aims to get everyone home on time.

• The construction sites are located in the Lower Mainland, with current projects in Vancouver, UBC, and a particular focus on South Surrey for the next 1.5 years.

Job Type & Location

This is a long term position based out of Vancouver, Surrey and North Vancouver, British Columbia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $46.00/hr.
