Amazon Field Marketing Manager, AWS Cloud Optimization Success in Vancouver, British Columbia

Through educational guidance content, thorough architecture reviews, supportive tooling, and a network of partners, we help customers make the most of their cloud usage.

We are looking for a Field Marketing Strategist to join our team. In this role, you will lead efforts to ensure that internal AWS stakeholders such as sellers, solution architects, business development managers, and professional services engineers are aware of Well-Architected and equipped to position it effectively with customers and partners. You will own our field marketing strategy and execution, leading the creation of product launch artifacts and communications. You will be responsible for managing marketing resources such as first call decks, trainings and documentation, along with owning and updating the content repository. You’ll keep connected to the field in order to understand what tactics and content types best support them.

A successful candidate in this role must have a propensity to dive deep into data, make connections, and draw conclusions. The candidate must be effective at unblocking themselves and have the ability to operate effectively in ambiguity. They must have the capacity to build strong cross-group working relationships.

We are part of AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS), which is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

Key job responsibilities

  • Owning and updating the content repository of communication assets (marketing assets, presentation decks, product documentation, training materials, etc) across our entire portfolio

  • Engaging with leaders across AWS Sales Marketing and Global Services (SMGS) organization to create communication channels that can reach every single technical resource in SMGS.

  • Creating communications strategies and executing communication plans on behalf of our portfolio to ensure that the right details about our products/programs are known by the right resources at the right time

  • Engaging in a process of continuous improvement to understand how the impact of our communications can be continuously improved. This may include influencing product/program owners to improve the quality of their communications assets

  • Understanding the impact of product/program wins and ensuring that they are communicated to the right internal stakeholders to create further momentum for adoption of our products/programs

  • Rolling up your sleeves and creating communications artifacts if we discover that we have gaps in our communications strategy that cannot otherwise be filled by product or program owners

  • Complete ownership and management of the execution of internal communications campaigns. This also includes reporting on campaign progress, communicating strategic wins, and managing escalations (when appropriate)

You will need the following experience:

  • 3 years of experience managing communication channels in a complex organization teams

  • Creating communications campaigns that create awareness for products or programs

  • Designing marketing assets such as first call decks and field communications

  • Creating go-to-market strategies for accelerating growth

  • Effective verbal and written communications skills, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements

  • Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)

  • Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional programs or marketing campaigns from concept to completion

  • Experience managing and measuring marketing performance in various channels

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing external partners to develop marketing programs

  • Experience presenting ideas to various levels of an organization to gain support for initiatives

The base salary for this position ranges from $77,300/year up to $129,000/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
