The Opportunity:

The Employee Benefits Strategist role is an exciting role within HUB responsible for partnering with our dynamic Advisors to deliver an exceptional experience that is designed to make our clients more successful in their strategy, more knowledgeable of their people and more comfortable with the decisions they have in front of them. You will be responsible for augmenting our Advisor force in sharing our HUB Value Proposition to deliver Quality Employee Experiences™ for our prospects and future customers. You will play the role of Storyteller and will be the key part of the team that helps our clients connect the dots in strategic meetings, using our proprietary approach and tools and your experience to clarify a client’s current position and preview what is ahead.

Reporting to the Chief Sales Officer this position is best filled by a passionate employee benefits expert with a flair for communication. You will be the bridge between heady technical information and the “what can I do next” execution steps for a client. You will translate data into insights and insights into action. You will help simplify strategies into actionable steps and connect in our industry and specialty practices where appropriate. You will be the proxy for the experts and practices that are with other clients.

This role is highly visible within the Employee Benefits operation. In partnership with the regional EB Sales Leaders, you will help HUB Canada drive organic growth and retention, respectively.

A day in the life:

  • Convey our HUB Value Proposition in conversations with prospects.

  • Assist teams in threading a narrative around the interrelation of a client’s employees, their behaviors, and the underlying costs of those decisions.

  • Drive immersive tools with clients to reveal truths about their plans, designs, etc., and align outcomes with their goals and objectives.

  • Assist our producers with closing new business by speaking to every HUB specialty.

  • Ensure we are delivering the right sales and consulting experience.

  • Join large or otherwise important cases as a strategic presence.

  • Build trust and rapport with both our Benefits and Retirement Advisors as well as our Commercial Advisors.

  • Play a key role at finalist meetings as a Total Rewards Expert.

  • Activate and strategically deploy specialty services and experts to win business, secure existing accounts, and evolve multi-year plans for our customers.

  • Handle challenging tasks and position your experts and resources to be the best for a client.

  • Embrace new technology to aid in telling the right story for our clients and prospects.

  • Provide thought leadership for technical aspects of Employee Benefits and/or Retirement Savings.

  • Assist with best practices for account stewardship.

  • Develop long-lasting relationships with client teams and producers to grow and retain business.

  • Positively and proactively represent HUB in meetings, seminars, trade shows, and networking events.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Who you are:

  • Proven client service record in retaining business, winning business, and improving cross-sell results.

  • A consultative, positive, and resourceful approach to dealing with prospects, clients, and associates.

  • Ability to help business owners evolve our service and strategic delivery to adapt to changing markets. We support clients across all size segments, including small groups, middle market, and key accounts (national and international footprints) with up to 10,000+ employees. The focus for this position will be the middle market and above.

  • Drive to complement a strong team and supplement roles where needed.

  • Experience working with national accounts and companies with multi-national footprints.

  • Strong financial statement and budget literacy to support the management of profit and loss, and to communicate our value to financially minded customers and vendors.

  • Highly developed organizational and time management skills.

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Public speaking and presentation experience, both in-person and virtual.

  • Strong degree of self-motivation.

  • Influential and persuasive, with the ability to partner across HUB and work well with other experts.

  • Proficiency in MS Office, with a desire to learn and interact with MS Power BI.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills.

  • High attention to detail.

  • Life, Accident, and Health Insurance License.

Compensation:

The expected salary range for this position is $110,000-$120,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
