Vantage Career Center Culinary Arts Instructor in Van Wert, Ohio
Position: Culinary Arts Instructor Start Date: ASAP Application Deadline: Monday, March 10, 2025 (or until filled)
Job Objectives: Plans, implements and evaluates instruction in Culinary Arts curriculum designed to address a wide range of maturity and skill levels. Courses consist of Hospitality Fundamentals, Fundamentals of Food Production, Contemporary Cuisine, and Dining Room Service & Operations. Assists secondary high school students with work based learning opportunities as well as with post-secondary placement. The Culinary Arts program also manages and operates our school restaurant, Cup & Saucer, as well as participates in a limited number of events associated with our school. Encourages parental, business and community involvement.
Preferred Minimum Qualifications:
- Possess or be eligible for valid state department of education license/certificate appropriate for position
- Ability to successfully teach courses in the Ohio Department of Education Hospitality and Tourism career field specifically within the Culinary Arts pathway
- Industry certification(s) preferred. Serv Safe Manager
- Meets all mandated health requirements (e.g., a negative tuberculosis test, medical exam, etc.)
- A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment
- Complies with drug-free workplace rules and policies
- Keeps current with technology and other workplace innovations that support job functions
- Training and/or experience in behavioral management techniques
