Robert Half International Full Charge Bookkeeper in Valley View, Ohio

The strongest candidates for this position will have excellent organizational skills, strong communication tactics, and the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines. This short-term contract / temporary to full-time Full Charge Bookkeeper opportunity is based in Valley View, Ohio.

Responsibilities

  • Tracking fixed assets and preparing depreciation schedules

  • Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable, including collections

  • Performing reconciliations for bank and general ledgers, as well as payroll processing

  • Ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close

  • Supervising accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers

  • Preparing the trial balance and financial statements, including, but not limited to, balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows

  • Maintaining historical records by filing documents

  • Following federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements, implementing adherence to requirements, filing reports, and advising management on needed actions Requirements - Foundational knowledge in Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Quickbooks Online experience

  • Experience with Sales Tax

  • Strong familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Adeptness in payroll for under 100 employees

  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight

    • Proficiency with Excel, Quickbooks, and Peachtree
  • Highly organized, attentive, has a sense of urgency, flexible and able to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in bookkeeping

  • A thorough knowledge of accrual and cash basis of accounting

  • Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments

  • Ability to multitask and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds

  • High school diploma or equivalent, AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred

  • Aptitude for analyzing financial data and generating accurate reports in a timely manner

  • Previous experience with payroll preferred
