Summary About the Position: You will serve as the Administrative Support Assistant (OA) at a Multipurpose Project. Responsibilities At the GS-05 and GS-06 levels, the duties are developmental in nature leading to the full performance level of GS-06. The duties are described at the GS-07level. Responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the project office. Prepare budget estimates and monitors expenditures against the approved allotments. Serve as a point of contact and source of information for all areas of personnel administration. As Government Purchase Card Holder serve as the source of information for micro-purchase acquisition procedures to be used in procuring supplies, materials, and services. Keep track of employee training needs and schedules, initiate travel orders and insure that property records are maintained properly. Serve as the record management coordinator for the project office and ensure that all records are maintained in accordance with Army regulations. As a timekeeper- maintain, prepare and submit time and attendance data and labor cost summaries for the staff. Formulate and execute indirect and direct budgets, assess resources, and maintain and control of multiple accounts. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. GS-05: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing office support services such as: using computer programs to store and retrieve data, entering time for employees, purchasing of supplies and equipment, verifying invoices prior to payment, and/or following office management policies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. GS-06: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes using the Microsoft Office Suite to review and create documents and extract data to create reports; AND tracking budgetary obligations and expenditures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as public administration, business management, human resources, psychology, etc. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages. GS-07: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes formulating and executing indirect and direct budgets AND assessing resources and maintaining and controlling multiple accounts. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors. Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. If selected at either the GS-05 or GS-06 level, there is non-competitive promotion potential to the GS-06 and GS-07 levels. Career ladder promotions are not guaranteed. An employee can only be promoted when he/she demonstrates ability to work at a higher level, and when the promotion is in line with the agency's authorized ceiling and staffing policies.
