Touro College NP Program Faculty (FNP and PMHNP Programs) in Vallejo, California

Faculty in the TUC School of Nursing (SON) are charged with planning, implementing and evaluating nursing curricula and defining and measuring student learning outcomes. Faculty engage in a collaborative process as they develop policies and procedures for the SON; they maintain currency in their professional field and model excellence in instruction and assessment of learning. As a member of the larger campus, faculty are engaged in service at the School, College and University level. They are engaged members of their professional and geographic community and participate in scholarly activities relevant to their faculty responsibilities and professional discipline.

  • Assume responsibility for assigned teaching load, including didactic coursework and clinical components.

  • Develop learning objectives, course syllabi, learning assignments and evaluation strategies for assigned courses.

  • Advise nursing students regarding the nursing curriculum and requirements for graduation and other school obligations.

  • Participate in School and University committee meetings and fulfill assigned responsibilities.

  • Participate in health-related activities in the community.

  • Utilize innovative learning technologies for traditional, blended, and online course delivery.

  • Implement a plan to generate and disseminate products from scholarly activity.

  • Function within the organizing framework of the School of Nursing in didactic and clinical settings.

  • Support Facilitation of clinical placements with qualified preceptors to meet the requirements by CCNE for the FNP or PMHNP role.

  • Monitor compliance with clinical requirements of TUC SON and agencies.

  • Monitor student progression through the online clinical tracking system (Typhon).

  • Maintain active membership in professional organizations.

  • Assist in the development of learning objectives, course syllabi, learning assignments and evaluation strategies for clinical experience courses.

  • Participate in governance and curriculum meetings within the SON meetings throughout the year.

  • Participate in faculty development opportunities.

  • Doctor of Nursing (DNP) Degree Preferred.

  • Master of Science in Nursing or higher degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program required.

  • A minimum of 2(two) years cumulative clinical experience as an FNP and/or PMHNP.

  • At least one year of recent clinical and/or teaching experience in academic nursing.

  • Teaching experience at the graduate level preferred.

  • Must hold an active and unencumbered RN (Registered Nurse) licensed in the State of California by date of employment.

  • A minimum of 2(two) years clinical experience as an FNP and/or PMHNP.

  • Must hold an active and unencumbered NP license in the state of California.

  • National certification as an FNP and/or PMHNP.

  • Hybrid Position with on campus presence required.
