Overview: We are looking for a skilled and passionate Dinner Cook to join our team at Urban Fusions, a cozy, small restaurant known for Soul and Caribbean cuisine. The ideal candidate has experience working in a fast-paced kitchen, is knowledgeable about cooking techniques, and is excited to create memorable dining experiences for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to our menu, with a focus on evening/dinner service.
• Ensure food is cooked and presented to the restaurants standards of quality, taste, and presentation.
• Assist in the development of new recipes and daily specials, taking into account seasonal ingredients.
• Manage portion sizes and presentation of food.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen equipment, cooking stations, and food storage areas.
• Follow all health and safety standards, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation.
• Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth, efficient service, particularly during peak hours.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate with management when supplies need to be ordered.
• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff as needed.
• Handle and address any issues that arise during the dinner shift, ensuring high standards are maintained.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a cook, particularly in a dinner service setting.
• Knowledge of a wide variety of cooking techniques, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations and food handling practices.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Culinary school education or relevant certifications (preferred but not required).

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a hot, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
