ConEdison Solutions Systems Manager (Cyber Security) in Valhalla, New York

Responsible for the management, execution, operations and strategy implementation of the cyber security for IT/OT infrastructure to ensure a robust, secured and resilient environment. Responsibilities also include planning, monitoring, identifying and accessing, and responding/solving cyber security vulnerabilities and threats. This includes working with the internal teams to safeguard and maintain a reliable and highly secure environment. Additional responsibilities including working with the business teams to respond to compliance requirements, manage consultants as necessary to support the technologies, and its related projects and services. Engages in the professional development of staff and hiring.

  • Manage security monitoring, vulnerability assessment and threat response.

  • Execute cyber security program including coordinatation and respond to cyber security alerts.

  • Budget, manage and implement cyber security initiaitves.

  • Evaluate trends, identify opportunities to enhance, improve and use new ideas and technologies within the environment.

  • Formulate cyber security processes, procedures and controls based on industry based best practices.

  • Work on various initiatives as assigned.


Requires a BS or BA degree in Computer Science or Information Management, or equivalent experience.


  • Advanced understanding of NIST cyber security framework and strategy.

  • In-depth knowledge of architecture, engineering, and operations of at least one enterprise SIEM platform (e.g. McAfee Enterprise Security Manager, Splunk).

  • Knowledge of other security tools such as Tenable Nessus, ForeScout, Windows Defender.

  • Advanced understanding of: Networking, CISCO and/or Fortinet technology or comparable Next-generation Firewall technology.

  • Good knowledge of IT infrastructure architecture and configuration.

  • Familiarity with telecommunications technologies.

  • Experience with managing multiple highly visible projects and facilitating audit exercises (NERC, SOX).

  • Excellent analytical abilities and problem solving skills.

  • Experience developing and deploying signatures.

  • Ablility to work with end users, independently lead and mentor IT associates.

  • Experience leading personnel, managing workflow and promoting teamwork.

  • Experience with IT/OT ecosystem or SCADA preferred.


10+ years experience in cyber security technology and 4 years in a leadership role.
