Actalent Medical Assistant in Valhalla, New York
We are looking for a Certified Medical Assistant or a Medical Assistant with their Diploma for a new opportunity in Valhalla!
The MA will provide provide direct patient assistance in an outpatient clinic serving adults with IDD.
Arranges prescription refills, prior authorizations, and pre-certifications as needed.
Participates in primary care pre-visit planning by identifying applicable preventative health measures; flagging and following up on overdue labs, imaging, and consultations; acquiring outstanding medical documentation; and managing patient correspondence with the provider and care team.
Documents/scans the following in the electronic medical record for the provider and care team.
Documents the following comprehensive health assessment items for the provider and care team to include immunizations and screenings; medical, familial, and social history including cultural and personal preferences; behaviors affecting health.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
High School Diploma
Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Certificate Program
Registered (RMA) or Certified CMA (must be active)
CPT or RPT preferred
EKG Certification preferred
6+ Months year healthcare outpatient setting
Electronic medical record software
Experienced in the care of individuals with developmental disabilities preferred;
