ABOUT THE POSITION
The CEBs have a growing renewable pipeline and we are looking to add as an essential member to the team in Valhalla, NY. The Category Manager will be responsible for developing a category strategy for the solar panels and inverts or other assigned categories supporting the vision of the organization, supporting projects under construction as well as the needs of operating facilities. Projects will be constructed under EPC or General Contracting structures with major equipment and solar modules assigned to project construction contractors.
You must be eligible to work in the US independent of company sponsorship.
Implement category strategies linked to business strategy for the assigned categories in the renewable energy category.
Be the focal point of contact for all matters that pertain to the category from understanding the internal requirements, developing the strategy, sourcing for suppliers, contract management including development of MSA’s, execution of projects, ascertain logistics requirements, life cycle management and all matters that related to supplier performance and risk management.
Support ongoing vendor management support for projects in execution including discussions for change order etc. Maintain contractual and business relationships with vendors. Plan and execute effective negotiation processes with vendors.
Perform market research, tier 2 supplier strategies, identification of supplier capability, financial status, risk, supply chain shortages and mitigation strategies.
Identify and implement innovative strategic solutions that provide greater efficiency for projects, lower cost of operations and deliver process efficiencies for the organization.
Develop and maintain expert knowledge of respective global supply markets, competitors, and product innovations.
Build strong relationship with internal team stakeholders and ensure customer satisfaction.
Collaborate with other category managers and internal stakeholders for wider adoption of the developed strategy.
Bachelor’s degree Business, Operations, Supply Chain Management, Engineering (or equivalent).
CIPS / CPM / ASICS certifications preferred.
An ability to work independently without much supervision.
An ability to effectively manage deadlines.
Strong organizational, analytical, research and technical aptitude.
Sound decision-making capabilities.
An ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
5 to 10 years of experience in EPC Purchasing and Supply Chain management.
Experienced in procurement of renewable energy related equipment or other technical equipment and services.
Prior experience in Category management.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and ease of adoption to new technology.
