Job Description
The Journeyman E l e ctrician supports Human Technologies' mission of Creating Employment for People with Disabilitie s by performing and overseeing Electrical Construction and Electrical Maintenance resulting in customer satisfaction and pos itiv e financial performance at multiple sites within an assigned geographic area.
This position direct l y reports to the Facilities Manager with primary responsibilities in Utica, NY, but also has responsibilities at multiple sites a lon g the 1-90 corridor between Albany and Buffalo.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
Schedule and perform all preventive and repair maintenance tasks at assigned sites within timeframes specified by the FM, including emergency repairs required during off-hours.
Oversee the work of approved subcontractors performing preventive or repair maintenance tasks and approve their
Create and maintain all required supporting digital and non - digital documentation required by the FM. This includes maintaining electronic prints, maintenance schedules and PM completion documents.
Generate and subm it se rvice quotes for repair work in a timely manner as determined by the
Create and maintain preventive maintenance programs for assigned sites, including equipment list s, equipment condition information, workflows, and work instructions as required by the FM .
Diagno se and troubleshoot electrica l system and equipment anomalies and take a ppropriate actions to restore systems to operational stat us .
Recommend cyclic r e placem e nt of aging or worn Specify electrical equipment to replace aged and worn equipment. Perform pro je ct work and/ or monitor s ubcontractor performance on all m a jo r equipment replacements or repairs.
Establish a network of approved subcontractors to be utilized for routine and emergency serv ices for assigned s it
Manage, maintain, and secure all company assets including but not limited to vehicles, tools, co mputers, phone s , and equipment.
Maintain a technical library to include cut sheets and tech manuals for equipment in assigned
Comply with safety policies and procedures for the safety of self and
Performs other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager.
Qualifications:
Completion of training as electrician along with a journeyman certification or a minimum of 5 years' experience electrical system maintenance and repairs. Must be a licensed electrician.
Knowledge in the operation and maintenance of various devices such as ammeters, voltmeters, thermal scanners, megohmmeters and other tools and equipment associated with electrical maintenance and
Training or experience with all code compliance, OSHA requirements, lock-out/tag out, and related regulatory and safety requirements . Must have proof of training in NFPA 70 and
Demonstrated experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), AutoCAD, Adobe Acrobat, and related facilities software
Must be able to communicate clearly and concise l y, verbally and in
Demonstrated proficiency using Excel and other MS Office pro ducts .
Must have a Universal Refrigerant License and know how to establish and maintain logs with consistent and accurate
Must have a valid Driver's License, reliable transportation, and have and maintain a driving record in accordance with Human Technologies' Liability/Automotive Insurance carrier.
Will operate aerial lifts and company
Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds, climb ladders and work on roofs and elevated platforms . Must be able to work at Most jobs require ease of mobility and ability to work while standing, sitting, bending, and reaching in confined and unconfined areas.
Must be willing to travel to multiple sites along the 1-90 corridor between Albany, NY and Buffalo, NY and, when assigned by the FM will travel to other locations as needed .
Must pass any required federal, state, municipality, and/or customer-specific background checks .
