If a provisional appointment is made, the appointed candidate will be required to compete in the next holding of the Investigator 2 (License) exam and be reachable for appointment from the newly established eligible list. To be considered, you must provide a copy of your letter of eligibility with your response.FINGERPRINTING QUALIFICATIONS: Appointment to this position may require that the candidate successfully undergo an investigative screening including a criminal history check.DUTIES: The Investigator 2 (License) duties in Licensing Services will include but are not limited to the following: •Responsible for supervision of Investigator 1’s.•Assist with on-site training.•Conduct investigations of a wide variety of consumer complaints.•Interview complaints/respondents. •Obtain statements, documents, and related evidence.•Conduct on-site inspections at licensed businesses to determine compliance with licensing laws (travel to other areas of the state is required for some assignments).•Write narrative reports to effectively communicate the results of investigations to appropriate parties.•Testify in adjudication proceedings concerning evidence gathered in investigations.•Review investigative reports of subordinates and prepare referral memos for general counsel.The Department of State is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
