Job Description
TITLE : Summer Adventuretime Associate
PURPOSE OF POSITION : Under general sueprvision, provide supervision for students and general clerical office support.
QUALIFICATIONS :

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Ability to relate well with students. Understanding and ability to meet developmental needs of preschool and school age students.
Knowledge and skill in childcare /child development, including what students are capable of at different age levels; health.
Knowledge of safety and emergency procedures.
Knowledge of students’ activities that will get the child to use both their skills and imagination.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Ability to implement program activities as well as participate in those activities.
Ability to be on time and follow through with responsibilities.
Ability to serve as a positive role model for students.
Ability to anticipate problems and take preventive action.
Ability to create collaborative working environment.
Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, staff, teachers, and administration.
Education
High School Diploma or G.E.D. Preferred.
Certification/Licensure
Current First Aid and CPR certification
Current Mandatory Reporters of Child Abuse Certification
Current Bloodborne Pathogens Certification
Medication Administration Certification
EXPERIENCE
Six Months - One Year of childcare experience preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Program Procedures
Assist in Maintaining Accurate Records.
Incident Reports
Assist team leaders or teachers while implementing activities during programming hours.
Attend pre-service all staff-development meetings and any other necessary meetings.
Collaborate with team leaders to discuss lesson plans and how to properly implement them.
Develop positive relationships and communicate effectively with school staff, custodians, food service staff, teachers, principals, school secretaries, guidance counselors, and supervisors.
Greet parents and students on when they arrive and leave.
Communicate positive and negative behaviors with parents on daily basis.
Provide parents with incident reports, newsletters, program changes or updates, upcoming events, and office contact information.
Maintain confidentiality of student records.
Maintain clean, sanitary, orderly, and safe environment.
Utilize space effectively to meet the needs of students.
Maintain appropriate child/staff ratios at all times.
Follow Food Safety/Sanitation guidelines when preparing and distributing snack.

Performs other duties assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Satisfactory health as certified by a competent medical authority every three years.
Requires eye/hand/arm coordination and dexterity of fingers and hands in keyboarding, calculating and fingering and grasping small objects normally weighing less than 10 lbs.
Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling and related physical activity.
Ability to work while standing, moving and/or walking.
Drug, tobacco, and alcohol free while working.
Must be able to see and hear within normal limits with or without corrective lenses or hearing aids.
Ability to operate a motor vehicle used to travel between sites
WORK CONDITIONS
Majority of work is performed in an office, school, or field trip setting.
Occasional exposure to body fluids, fumes, noise, and hazardous materials and emergency situations.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
At-will employee
Summer position.
Per Board Policies and administrative guidelines.
Performance evaluated as needed.
