PURPOSE OF THE POSITION : Provide personalized learning that supports each student in achieving their potential in the absence of roster teacher.
QUALIFICATIONS :

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities :
Demonstrated application of effective instruction and meeting student needs relative to district benchmarks and standards.
Knowledge of “best practice” in teaching.
Knowledge of the developmental characteristics of students at the designated grade level.
Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
Knowledge of the Iowa Teaching Standards.
Knowledge of special education and section 504.
Knowledge of Federal Rights and Privacy Act and other civil rights regulations.
Ability to organize and think clearly while communicating, organizing and evaluating.
Education :
Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education or Board of Educational Examiners approved alternative.
Certification/Licensure :
Appropriate BOEE licensure.
Equipment :
Office equipment such as computer and copier.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Weekly lesson plan collaboration with other classroom teacher and specialist teachers to support student learning.
Maintain a reliable attendance record.
Manage student behavior effectively in classroom setting.
Perfom expected duties of classroom teacher in their absence.
SUPERVISION OF OTHERS :
None
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Satisfactory health as certified by a competent medical authority upon hire.
Repetitious bending, lifting, and hand movement.
Ability to work while standing, moving and/or walking.
Drug, tobacco, and alcohol-free while working.
Must be able to see and hear within normal limits with or without corrective lenses or hearing aids.
Ability to operate a motor vehicle used to travel between sites.
WORKING CONDITIONS :
Majority of work is performed in school setting.
Occasional meetings outside the school day.
Occasional exposure to body fluids, fumes, noise, and hazardous materials and emergency situations.
