POSITION: Developmental Specialist

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's or graduate-level degree in education, health, social or behavioral science, human services, or other related field; OR Bachelor's or graduate-level degree in unrelated field and 2 years of experience working with children birth through age 5 with disabilities, developmental delays, or diagnosed physical or mental conditions with high probability of resulting in a developmental delay and their families; OR valid license in counseling; early childhood education for ages 3 through 8, grades kindergarten through third, or special education; hearing impairment intervention; medicine; nursing; occupational therapy; physical therapy; psychology; psychiatry; social work; speech-language pathology; or visual impairment intervention.

DUTIES: • Function as a transdisciplinary team member in the early intervention program offering specialized services to families of children who have developmental delays or qualifying diagnosis. • interacts with the family and child in their natural environments, providing the family with interventions they can incorporate into their daily routines. • serve as the primary service provider for a family, consulting with therapists and other team members during team meetings • responsible for completion of evaluations/assessments as assigned • Assists in the development of individualized family service plans (IFSP) with family and other professionals, documents interventions and progress toward IFSP outcomes along with documenting all contact with the family and other professionals. • assist Early Intervention service coordinators with transitions from early intervention programming when a child turns three years of age Responsible for completion of assigned evaluations and/or assessments using appropriate tools while meeting timelines. • attend meetings, trainings, staffing, etc. May serve on agency committees and conduct seminars/workshops for agency personnel. • provide extended services to children who qualify, and their families, assisting with the transition from early intervention to preschool age services. • assist the family in locating supports, services, and resources by connecting the family with their county board service and supports administrator. • develop a Child and Family Plan (CFP) with the family and will document all contact with the family and other professionals • Obtain and maintain certification as required by DODD and other contractual agencies. • Performs other related duties as assigned.

HOURS: 40 Hours per Week with flexibility for evening hours

SALARY: Pay ranges from $21.31 to $30.52, based upon experience. Benefits include Public Employee Retirement System; medical, dental, vision and life insurance; paid sick, vacation, and personal leave.
