    Position Summary:

    The IT ERP Sr Software Engineer participates in analysis, program design, coding, QA, documentation, software support and other programming, troubleshooting, system administration, and change control tasks needed to produce reports and interfaces and support Carle's Lawson Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and other information systems. Develops and maintains the data interfaces between related programs and systems. Demonstrates technical leadership and ability to function as a technical team lead.


    EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Bachelors Related Field OR or Bachelor's degree with programmer training courses. OR Combination of Associate's degree, programmer training courses and seven(7) years of programmer/analyst experience is valid substitution for academic achievement. CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS None specified. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Four (4) years Computers/Information Technology - Applications Engineer. Six (6) years project experience in design, development, maintenance and implementation projects. Two (2) years project experience in the implementation of software systems from outside vendors involving multiple information systems software support personnel. Four (4) years coding experience in two (2) or more of team's current programming languages is required. Five (5) years of financial systems support experience is required. Three (3) years of project experience in ERP implementation, programming, and maintenance support software projects is required. Three (3) years user experience with ERP tools such as Lawson LID, animator, and Lawson portal is required. Two (2) years user experience with ERP reporting tools such as Lawson Business Intelligence is required. Completion of three (3) successful projects as a technical team lead is required. OTHER REQUIREMENTS This position will utilize a variety of programming languages such as: SQL, VB & JAVA Scripting, Crystal Reports, HTML, ASP.NET, IBM WebSphere, LDAP and/or Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft SSRS, Microsoft SSIS, Micro Focus COBOL, and Kronos. Effective communication skills with internal customers, external customers and vendors; ability to function well in stressful situations; ability to function well as part of a team; and the ability to resolve routine to complex problems by following departmental procedures with minimal guidance and supervision.

    Essential Functions:

  • Codes/implements/integrates/documents necessary software objects (programs, reports, scripts, ect.) utilizing team's supported language/tools.

  • Assists both internal and external customers in finding solutions to their need for information as it related to the interfacing of disparate applications througout the enterprise, spanning multiple architectures.

  • Creates test plans and performs QA for their and their team's software objects.

  • Implement strategies necessary to reach objectives of the organization through the development and delivery of technology based applications - Collects business requirements, analyzes/designs solutions, provides excellent customer service.

  • Provides guidance to management & staff in planning, designing, and implementing technical solutions within Carle guidelines and technical policies.
