    Position Summary:

    The Junior Accountant is responsible for the various accounting and computer functions that are necessary for the timely and accurate preparation of the monthly financial reports. They will maintain information systems required for various external reporting requirements. Although specific job duties will be assigned to each position, they are cross-trained to do other functions within the Accounting department.

    Qualifications:

    EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Associate's Degree in Related Field CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS None EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Two (2) years Accounting experience preferred. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Requires knowledge of basic theory and applications. Must be able to create new reports in various mediums. These include the use of personal computer software (Microsoft Office products such as Excel and Word, etc.).

    Essential Functions:

  • Serves as "mini controller" and financial liaison for assigned Strategic Business Unit (SBU).

  • Perform review and analytical functions on financial information.

  • Act as liaison between SBU and Accounting.

  • Assist with monthly financial statements and annual budget.

  • Will be expected to monitor internal controls and report problem areas.
