Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides professional, technical, and planning support for a full project cycle with minimum supervision.
  • Works directly with the Fabrication shop supervisor to identify resources required to perform scheduled work.
  • Verifies the availability of resources prior to scheduling work or arranges for appropriate alternatives.
  • Meets with the Fabrication Supervisor to develop the following week's schedule, reviews the status of scheduled work orders, and discusses new, incoming work orders.
  • Works closely with the Fabrication shop supervisor concerning work planning, tracking, scheduling, and completion of work orders.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement, planning or performance through analysis of work order flow, project demands and expectations.
  • Reports to the Fabrication Supervisor.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum ten (10) years progressively responsible related work experience in an applicable trade, knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and architectural disciplines, specialized training in a Computerized Maintenance Management System Program, and estimating standards.
  • Knowledge of the mechanical discipline.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel and CAD Drafting.
  • Experience preparing detailed work plans (means and methods of inventory.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
  • Experience in work planning, project planning and project scheduling.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Expertise in Work Management Systems.
  • Experience working closely with engineers and scientific community.
  • Specialized training in a Computerized Maintenance Management System Program and estimating standards.
  • Familiar with CNC Operations.

Brookhaven Laboratory is committed to providing fair, equitable and competitive compensation. The full salary range for this position is $91400 - $124000 / year. Salary offers will be commensurate with the final candidate's qualification, education and experience and considered with the internal peer group.
