DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee and participate in the implementation of the annual, countywide comprehensive prevention plan. You will also assist with monitoring and analyzing the progress of database and specialty grants, coordinate prevention efforts within the county system, and provide technical assistance to prevention providers. Other responsibilities include expanding prevention efforts in accordance with the plan through participation in research and development for special prevention grant proposals, assisting with ongoing resource assessments, and assist with case management duties as needed. You will also plan and facilitate county wide trainings for outside agencies and organizations, attend community events and resources fairs, and be prepared to represent the county at public speaking engagements. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Drug and Alcohol Prevention Specialist Trainee; or A Bachelor's Degree in Health Education, Education, the Social or Behavioral Sciences or related fields and one year experience in drug and alcohol prevention work; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Legal Requirements: You must pass a background investigation. This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
