DESCRIPTION OF WORK

A County Mental Health Program Specialist 1 is responsible for a variety of duties, serving as the Office of Mental Health's liaison for the coordination of care and overseeing the delivery of mental health, psychiatric rehabilitation, and vocational services. You will ensure the availability and continuity of these services for individuals who are residing in our community. Professional work and judgement in this position are informed by clinical knowledge in the field of mental health as well as knowledge of dual diagnosis issues, especially mental health and substance abuse, and mental health and intellectual disabilities. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders, such as individuals receiving services, families, and service providers, will support your success with our team. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of professional level experience in the field of mental health; and a bachelor's degree; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements: PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements: You must pass a background investigation. This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
