JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Penn State Office of Student Aid is seeking a Senior Coordinator to assist the Director of the Federal and State Programs team in the management of private education loans. The individual in this position will troubleshoot and resolve any problems related to private education loan processing. They will assist the team director by initiating and maintaining contact with private education loan lenders to determine accurate eligibility requirements and troubleshoot issues. They will analyze daily system reports to monitor and coordinate the effective and efficient flow and processing of the electronic private education loan certification process.

The individual will be responsible for developing and maintaining a strong working knowledge of all federal, state, and University student aid regulations, policies, and procedures and contributing to the analysis of these regulations. This individual will analyze daily system reports to monitor and coordinate the effective and efficient flow and processing of the federal, state, and institutional aid programs.

This position requires a high level knowledge of complex regulations. Critical thinking skills and attention to detail are paramount to identifying and resolving processing and communication issues with students and their families, including professional judgement action affecting their eligibility for aid. In addition, this individual will provide telephone, e-mail, correspondence, and in-person walk-in advising to students/families about the student financial aid process and related issues, as well as represent the office in outreach activities including presentations to small and large groups. This individual will coordinate with other University departments such as Admissions, Bursar, Student Financial Services, Registrar, LDMO and all other campuses to resolve issues which impact the administration and delivery of student aid.

Education and Experience:

This position minimally requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent writing, presentation, interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking skills are required. Proficiency in the use of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, or similar, student information system and in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Teams and Zoom are desired.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$51,000.00 - $74,000.00
