JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Prof. Dipanjan Pan, Huck Chair Professor in Nanomedicine in the Huck Institute of Life Sciences at Penn State, is seeking a self-motivated, highly skilled Postdoctoral Scholar to work on a CDC-funded project. The successful candidate will work closely with the PI and other lab members in a multidisciplinary laboratory environment to develop various sensing platforms and other nanomedicine projects.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design and conduct biomedical experiments.

  • Nanomaterials synthesis and characterization.

  • Extensive experience with electrical engineering, circuit design.

  • Translational science.

  • 3D printing.

  • Hands-on lab benchwork on cell biology, immunology, and animal tumor models is a plus.

  • Generate, analyze, and evaluate data.

  • Present results in an organized manner.

  • Learn new techniques and approaches in state-of-the-art materials characterization techniques.

  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in the field and integrate them into research.

Required and preferred qualifications:

  • A PhD degree in bioengineering or biomedical engineering, cancer biology, molecular biology, immunology, or a related field is required by the start date.

  • Multiple peer-reviewed publications that demonstrate relevant hands-on skills are required.

  • Experience with mentoring junior scientists, graduate students and working within a diverse, multidisciplinary group.

  • Excellent organizational skills, oral and written communication skills, self-motivation, and a strong work ethic are required.

The Pan Lab is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for nanoparticle characterization, and the Postdoctoral Scholar will have access to world class facilities at the Penn State campus. For more information about Prof. Dipanjan Pan’s lab, please visit https://www.dipanjanpanlaboratory.org/.

This is a term appointment, funded for one year from date of hire, with an excellent possibility of renewal.
