JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT) is seeking students to fill Student Learning Design Assistant positions to support learning design programming. Typical duties include:

  • Participate in technology-related faculty engagement sessions and trainings (online offerings)

  • Organize and maintain project files

  • Workshop administration, including but not limited to, drafting communication templates and surveys

  • Willingness to learn about accessibility guidelines

  • Application of the accessibility guidelines to ensure documents and other online content is accessible

  • Willingness to learn about and apply basic learning design principles to project tasks

  • Consult on and support design of multimedia programs and projects

  • Provide event support for the annual Symposium for Teaching and Learning with Technology and other smaller events hosted by Teaching and Learning with Technology

  • Provide input from a student perspective on projects and programs, assignments, directions, documentation

  • Attend working group meetings on Zoom

    The ideal candidate should be detail oriented, well organized, have excellent communication skills and a passion to learn. Experience with asynchronous learning is a plus. The candidate should also be comfortable with Canvas, Office 365, Google Suite, Kaltura, and Zoom as well as the willingness to expand their knowledge in the use of additional teaching and learning tools.

    Positions are part-time, 10-20 hours per week, with individual asynchronous work as well as periodic synchronous work with a team on Zoom between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. A working knowledge of other Penn State services, such as University Libraries and Media Commons, is desired. Although this position is primarily remote, occasional University Park or Commonwealth campus travel may be required for events and/or team meetings.
