JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The role of this position is to provide comprehensive technical support to the USAID Current and Emerging Threats to Crops Innovation Lab (CETC IL). The incumbent will be responsible for closely monitoring and overseeing the activities of sub-awardees, ensuring that the execution of their funded projects aligns with the established Statement of Work (SOW) and overall program objectives. This position is integral in ensuring the success of multiple agricultural development projects and requires a professional with a strong technical background in agricultural research and development.Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Oversight: Provide detailed technical support and guidance to sub-awardees, ensuring their project activities are consistent with the goals of the CETC IL and adhere to the approved SOW.

  • Project Monitoring: Regularly review and analyze reports submitted by funded partners to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with project objectives. The ability to critically assess and verify the scientific and technical content of these reports is essential.

  • Research Synergy Identification: Actively seek out and identify potential synergies across various research projects, fostering collaboration and integration where possible to maximize the impact and efficiency of the research initiatives.

  • Receipt Examination: Given that financial transparency and accountability are crucial, a significant portion of this role involves the meticulous examination of submitted receipts and other financial documents to verify the legitimacy and appropriateness of expenditures related to research activities.

  • Language Skills: While fluency in French is not a strict requirement, it is considered a significant advantage, given the international scope of the projects and the need for communication with French-speaking stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong technical knowledge in agricultural development and research, with a particular focus on the practical application of research findings.

  • Proven experience in project management, especially within the context of international development and research funding.

  • Ability to critically evaluate technical reports and ensure compliance with SOW.

  • Excellent attention to detail, particularly in the examination of financial documents.

  • Strong communication skills, with fluency in French being a notable asset.
