JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Nittany Lions Read/Nittany Lions Count Federal Work-Study Program (NLR/NLC) is seeking applicants to join our program for the 2023/2024 Academic Year.

NLR/NLC students seek to enhance the early reading, math, and science skills of children in the surrounding communities. Working directly with elementary and middle schools in the community, NLR/NLC students assist and support the classroom teachers, engage directly with the children, and provide one-on-one and/or small-group instruction. Positions are available in both school day and afterschool programs. A committment of 8-12 hours per week is preferred. Hourly rates for NLR/NLC students for the 2023/2024 academic year is $14/hour

All positions with NLR/NLC require the acquisition of the Three-Public Clearances for Employment.

This job requires the following 3 publicly available clearances:

• PA State Police Criminal Background Check• PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form• FBI Criminal Background Check.

Students who received a Federal Work Study award have the opportunity to obtain a job and perform related duties either on campus, or remotely, if possible and at the discretion of the employer . A Federal Work Study award does not guarantee a job position is available.
