JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a Customer Service Representative to assist in coordinating operations in conjunction with outside vendors , process financial transactions and aid in problem resolution of unusual situations .
This position will be responsible for:
Serve as first-line liaison for internal and external customers (guests, clients, faculty, staff, students, vendors, etc.)
Assist in coordinating the activities of outside vendors/companies in support of operations
Respond and refer customer questions and/or needs, provide appropriate response/service for situation; refer to other department(s)/unit(s)
Correspond with a diverse customer base in person, by phone, email, fax, or regular mail
Process a variety of financial transactions and perform inventory activities
Investigate unusual situations or concerns and assist in problem resolution
Operate various equipment and computer systems
May assist in promoting products and/or services to internal and external customers
The position is responsible for assisting with customer phone calls and emails, processing customer registrations and website orders in appropriate digital registration systems and providing support for customer questions and/or needs regarding order support, website orders, website technical support, digital product access, and general Extension support questions and call routing. This position also assists with data entry and record management in Salesforce, which includes ensuring contact, account, order, and other key data is up to date and accurate. The customer support representative will engage customers and clientele on a daily basis, so candidates should enjoy assisting people and be able to create an environment that is welcoming to all visitors. A basic understanding of computers, strong technical skills strong organizational skills, and interpersonal skills are required.
Education and Experience:
This position typically requires a High School Diploma or higher plus 3 year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience .
This is a limited-term position funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
