Campus Recreation (https://studentaffairs.psu.edu/campusrec) is looking for an experienced and dynamic person to join our team.

Campus Recreation is a department within the division of Student Affairs that provides recreation and well-being programs to the campus community through the operation and administration of the following: IM Building, McCoy Natatorium, Stone Valley Outdoor Recreation Area, Tennis Center, White Building, Hepper Fitness Center, Outdoor Adventures, Aquatics, Club Sports, Fitness and Wellness Programs, and Intramural Sports. Campus Recreation is comprised of 53 full-time staff and more than 600 student staff members.

Under the supervision and direction of the Assistant Director of Reservations, Membership, and Outreach, the Coordinator of Reservations, Membership, and Outreach , will serve on a team responsible for the daily membership and customer service operations at the Campus Recreation Tennis Center and McCoy Natatorium, program offerings, and special events.

Specific responsibilities include assisting in the development and management of student staff, the Tennis Center facility schedule and court reservations, and providing administrative and facility support to programs, rentals, and special events. Leadership and supervisory skills to select, supervise, motivate, and evaluate student employees relative to work performance, crisis management, and peer relationships as demonstrated through past supervision of student staff. This position provides direct and/or indirect supervision to more than 30 student staff members including customer service representatives, and customer service leads.

This position requires a bachelor’s degree or higher plus two years of collegiate recreation experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A master’s degree is preferred. Knowledge of basic safety and risk management practices and industry standards as they relate to facility management is required. Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification is required. The ability to foster a positive climate among a diverse group of users is essential. The work schedule will include some evening and weekend hours.

This position requires the following clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.

    This position requires independent work on assignments while reviewing progress and updating the Assistant Director as appropriate. Excellent interpersonal, organization, and communication (oral and written) skills are essential. Must be able to manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines. Attention to detail and good judgment are vital requirements. The successful candidate will have the willingness to lead and work in a team-based environment as well as an eagerness to support and engage with all departmental and Student Affairs initiatives and efforts. Required to take initiative and have the flexibility to adapt to shifting workload demands.
