JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State’s College of Education World Campus Doctor of Education program seeks applicants with expertise that aligns with one of the following departments : Learning and Performance Systems, Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Psychology Counseling Education, Education Policy Studies along with experience in online graduate /doctoral education and a synchronous /hybrid learning environments . We are particularly interested in candidates with knowledge and experience with the Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate .

The successful applicant is expected to be a contributing and collaborative team player working closely with program leadership and faculty serving the World Campus Doctor of Education program and the C ollege of E ducation.

Responsibilities

This position will include teaching core and elective courses in the College portfolio, including those for the World Campus Education Doctorate; Advising doctoral level students; and contribution to the overall growth , development and success of the World Campus Education Doctorate . The faculty member will c ontribute to service activities at levels commensurate with peers.

The position is flexible/ hybrid, with a structured annual requirement to come to campus, including a necessary presence at the annual Summer Summit held at Penn State.

Required Qualifications

  • Earned doctorate in an Education or a closely related field

  • Evidence of scholarly activity, such as publication in professional journals and presentations at national conferences.

  • Evidence of high-quality teaching

  • Evidence of commitment to working collegially and with individuals from diverse backgrounds

    Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in doctoral education

  • Experience with asynchronous online learning communities

  • Experience with emerging and innovative educational technologies
