JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Department of Chemical Engineering is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual to provide administrative support to the undergraduate program. This position will serve as a point of contact for both internal and external customers.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Manage and maintain confidential student records.
Review transcripts and degree audits, resolve problems, and ensure requirements for the degree are met.
Process student petitions and update student degree audit reports from approved petitions.
Provide administrative support for the undergraduate coordinator including preparing correspondence, handling confidential issues, corresponding with students, and coordinating undergraduate advising.
Serve as point of contact for undergraduate students for scheduling and other academic functions.
Prepare and process registration and drop/add materials, schedule semester courses, classroom final exams, and evening exams.
Coordinate events for family visits, Spend-A- Summer Day, and New Student Orientation.
Create and maintain various databases. Compile academic reports using the Penn State Data Warehouse to collect and analyze student data.
Assist in the preparation of course proposals. Process scholarship awards via eSteward. Coordinate and manage student rating of teaching effectiveness.
Provide support for ABET.
Education:
Minimum requirement is a High School diploma or higher, No prior relevant work experience required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with student records, ITwo, LionPath, CollegeNet, WorkLion, GRADS, DocFinity, eSteward, CSRS (Course Substitution Request System), and knowledge of University student policies strongly preferred.
Knowledge of university policies and procedures related to students and FERPA guidelines is preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional customer service are essential.
Must have the ability to be a team player, and handle multiple priorities with attention to detail.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:
$34,800.00 - $50,500.00
